Members’ benefits:

  • Being a member of the pre-eminent Global Network of experts researching and teaching on Crime, Deviance and Delinquency and their root causes and providing criminal justice solutions and innovations, grounded in the full respect of human rights and of the rule of law
  • Members may attend the General Assembly and vote on matters affecting the International Society of Criminology (ISC). A vote may also be requested electronically if needed.
  • Young Criminologists (up to age 30) can elect their representatives to the Board of Directors and to the Scientific Commission of the ISC.
  • A subscription to the International Annals of Criminology (a substitute publication may be provided in 2016 as the Annals is in transition to another publisher)
  • Discounted registration fees for the World Congresses and any other meeting, conference, courses or institutes organized by the ISC or in partnership with the ISC
  • The newsletter, normally published on the ISC’s website.
  • Members will have access to the Member Only information and sections of the ISC website.
  • Access to the digitized archive of the past issues of the International Annals of Criminology through a link posted on the ISC’s website.
  • Access to the worldwide database of criminology and criminal justice programs (under construction).
  • Access reserved to Members only to the employment offered/wanted section of the ISC’s website and other career opportunities.
  • Access reserved to Members only of announcements of scholarships, grants, research opportunities, internships and more, of special interest to Young Criminologists.
  • Access reserved to Members only to Global Dialogue, a forum through which ISA members are able to engage in communication, debate, showcasing their diverse work, practices, ideas and voices
  • Access to Journeys in Criminology, interviews with distinguished criminologists and criminal justice experts, academics, professionals, and policymakers about their work and carriers in the field.
  • Access to the electronic version of the entire collection of the International Annals of Criminology through the webpage of the ISC, Publications & Activities tab.

Membership Term is from 1 January to 31 December of each year, regardless of date of enrollment. However, the term for new or renewing Members in the month of December will begin in the following calendar year.

TYPES OF MEMBERSHIPS AND DUES:
  1. Active Membership
    Active Members are full Members of the Society and can vote in the General Assembly of the Society.
    One Year Active Membership: US$60
    Three-Year Active Membership: US$150.
  2. Young Criminologist
    This is a membership for persons studying in appropriate disciplines in colleges, universities and professional schools (e.g. criminal investigator, police cadet) or recently graduated and beginning their academic, research or professional career (including police, corrections, victim assistance, etc.) Student membership is available until age 30. Young Criminologists can only vote to elect their representatives to the Board and the Scientific Commission and in their own assemblies. Proof of age is required.
    One Year Young Criminologist Membership: US$30
    Three-Year Young Criminologist Membership: US$75
  3. Retired or Emeritus Person
    This is a membership for retired or emeritus individuals. It includes the same privileges as the Active Membership.
    One Year Retired Membership: US40
    Three year Retired Membership: US$105
  4. Members from Specially Recognized Countries
    Members who are citizens and reside in one of the countries on the U.N. list of LDC as of December 2015 pay a reduced membership fee. For the list: click here
    • Active & Retired Members from LDC:
      One Year LDC Active & Retired Membership: US$30
      Three-Year Active & Retired LDC Membership: US$75
      They have the same privileges as the Active Members.
    • Young LDC Criminologists:
      One Year Young LDC Criminologist Membership: US$15
      Three-Year Young Criminologist Membership: US$38
      They have the same privileges as Young Criminologists. Proof of age is required.
